Hi all, I hope harvest is going well for all of you. We are in the thick of harvest and stressed but happy.

Concerning the upcoming NC140 meeting to be held in Geneva in Nov. 2nd and 3rd. Thanks to Jason Londo we have received the official authorization for the meeting. It will help us plan if you could please register in advance of the meeting. We have developed a website to register for the meeting. It can be accessed at:

At the website you can register for 1 or 2 persons and make your hotel reservation without calling the hotel. The deadline for registration with a guaranteed hotel room is Octpber 2. However, if you don’t need us to make your hotel reservation, we can accept registrations for the meeting until Oct. 28 

The meeting will be held at the Geneva lakefront hotel in their meeting room.  Attached is the preliminary schedule for the meeting. Please let me know if you have additions or corrections to the proposed agenda

Please prepare an annual report from each cooperating institution and upload the report to the NC140 website by Nov. 2. 

I apologize for the cost of this meeting ($400). It seems that everything is expensive. Below is a cost breakdown and how we ended up at $400 for registration.

• Meeting room - $20
• Catering - $159
• Tour bus for afternoon of first day - $30
• Group dinner the second night - $30
• Tent, tables, and chairs for second night dinner - $30
• NC140 website fee - $70
• Dinner first night on your own - $0
• Cornell tax of 18% - $61
• Total - $400

I hope many of the retirees from NC140 will attend. We will waive the registration fee for all retirees. Nevertheless please register and make your hotel reservation from the website. The dinner on the last night will be outdoors at my personal orchard with food from a taco truck. I hope it won’t be too cold but even if it is cold we will still have dinner outside in the orchard. I hope to introduce my family to you all. If I have forgotten to give some information you need let me know.
