There are two alternative airports that may have lower airfare:
Greenville-Spartanburg International Airport (GSP). A rental car would be required to travel to the greater Asheville area (~1 hour drive).
Charlotte Douglas International Airport (CLT). Shuttles are available from CLT (~2 hour drive) to a nearby hotel (Clairion Inn – Asheville Airport). There are 5 shuttles throughout the day - $85 per traveler (one-way). See http://www.ashevilleshuttle.com/
Registration: https://www.eventbrite.com/e/nc-140-annual-meeting-tickets-49379111251 The registration fee for the meeting this year is $165.00. This includes lunch on Wednesday and Thursday and dinner on Thursday evening, transportation, refreshments and web page support. For those that may be interested in the aquaculture survey subcommittee, please contact Greg Reighard (grghrd@clemson.edu) or Wes Autio (autio@umass.edu) to express interest and discuss options and scheduling.
Graduate Students
There is no surcharge to support graduate travel to this meeting by recommendation of the administration. However, we will have an opportunity for graduate student presentations (12-15 min each), for those interested we need a notice of interest and title by October 15. Because there is limited time available for these presentations, we highly encourage presentations related to rootstock research or interests of NC-140, and may need to be selective based on interest.
General Agenda: Please review at your convenience and let Mike know if there are corrections or additions that need to be made.
